The first of its kind, this dual-use trombone is perfect for a working musician or an aspiring musician looking for a an affordable and versatile professional horn.

Recognizing a need for a working musician's trombone, the design team at W. Nirschl has created the first trombone versatile enough to go from symphony orchestra or concert band to recording studio and night club. This was accomplished with an innovative detachable mouthpipe system that accommodates two different venturi tubes. One tube accommodates a bass shank mouthpiece and is well suited to symphony and concert band. The alternate venturi tube starts with a small bore tenor shank and gradually tapers into the larger bore of the trombone, requiring a longer, carefully graduated mouthpipe.

Without changing instruments or handslides, this provides the player the support and resistances previously available only with small bore tenor trombones or smaller handslides.
